To make my version here's what I used (you'll have to imagine most of the items, as I didn't get a picture of them ): scrapbook paper, heart template, hole punch, ribbon or twine, and a sewing machine.
Start by tracing and cutting out 6 hearts from each piece of paper. If you have a cutting machine like a Silhouette, even better. In this house, my daughter and I were the cutting machines ;-)
Layer your hearts in stacks of 2 or 3, alternating the patterns. Sew down the middle of the hearts, attaching them together.
Once sewn, pull the two sides of the top heart up to create the 3D effect.
Punch small holes in the tops of the heart in the back.
Space out your hearts according to your preference. I ended up having 9 3D hearts on my garland, but you could make yours with 3 stacked hearts each and have a shorter garland of 6.
I hate to waste paper and resources, so we used the scraps to fashion another element for the party decorations. You'll have to come back later to see what we made.
I'm so excited about this garland. We love how it turned out. What's more important is that my sweet girl had a hand in making it too. I love that she is so creative and crafty.
I'm linking up at some of these great parties and

Love your banner Nici. That was really creative to make it 3D. I do my best work 'under pressure' so I completely understand!
