Twine Wrapped Easter Eggs

March is finally here! Let the spring decorations come out to play!
I've got one more tutorial for you this week. I'm going to show you how I made these Twine Wrapped Easter Eggs for my Springtime Side Table Vignette.
You'll need twine (jute) or yarn, a hot glue gun, and plastic Easter eggs.
Begin by running a line of glue around the opening to seal it and stabilize the egg. Then starting at the top of the egg, place a dot of glue and attach the twine.
Rotate the egg as you continue running a line of glue around it, adhering the twine.
Do this until you get all the way to the bottom of the egg. Then, cut off the jute, put a dab of hot glue on the end of the egg and tuck the end of the jute into the glue. That's it! This can be done with yarn as well. I found that it was best to use a light colored egg or one that is close to the color of the twine you are using, so that any gaps won't be too easily revealed. I love how they look mixed in with my Book Page Decoupage Eggs on my side table.
If you are impressed with these eggs, I have to share with you my inspiration. My SIL told me that her friend, Karen of My Desert Cottage, had done some amazing Twine and Lace Easter Eggs and I should check them out. They are truly exquisite. You'll need to go over and see these gorgeous works of art. I knew I wouldn't be doing anything quite so elaborate, but the notion of covering eggs with twine was certainly inspiring.
